PhotoShop Magic:

I've taken some photos made at the California State Railroad Museum and Railtown 1897 and applied some Artistic Filters to them.  I call them, "Poor Man's Art," because you can buy any of the photos as an 8 x 10 inch print for only $30, including mailing.  Just e-mail me your order to Carl@TrainWeb.com.  Identify the photo(s) you want to purchase by using the image number under the photo.  Please send a check for the total amount to:  Carl Morrison, 325 Koch Avenue, Placentia, CA  92870.  I have larger sizes available as well with mounting/matting or mounting/matting/framing.  Just ask.

My poor attempt at Plein Air    Rough Pastels     IMG_4371.jpg

Plein Air, a French word, literally translates as 'open air', and is defined as painting or drawing done outside, in the open air. The equivalent term in Italian would be alfresco. These works were taken directly from nature, and infused with a feeling of the open air. A relatively recent practice, painting outdoors became an important dimension of the landscape work of the Impressionists and painters of the Barbizon school.

Of the 800-plus lighthouses in the USA, Sue and I have seen our share, from North Carolina's Outerbanks up the east coast to Maine, all three western states, plus the state with the most lighthouses...Michigan, with other Great Lakes lights.

Europe and North America have been the continents where we've ridden the most trains.  However, I've placed here just trains of North America, shot since I have had a digital camera.

Since 1988, when we bought a Classic Chevrolet, I've been to many car shows.  There you see the cars at their best.  Here's a few I've photographed, including our '56 and friend Paul's '57, both of which made it 12,000 miles around the US in 2004 (see above).

My home county, Jennings County, Indiana, had three or more covered bridges that I had seen as a kid.  Neighboring Jackson county had longer bridge spans to cross bigger rivers.  Now I've found that the west coast also has many covered bridges as well.  Here are a few of my favorites.  One place you can find a listing of covered bridges in the US is:  http://ohiobarns.com/covbri/index.html
